The Superbowl is once again on the horizon, and just like the past two years, it has the Kansas City Chiefs in it. However, this is a bit more of an interesting matchup because the outcome for this year’s game is going to be the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs, the same as it was two years ago. If Kansas City wins this upcoming game, they will have won three back-to-back NFL seasons, something never done in the history of the league. However, if Philadelphia manages to overcome the odds and beat Kansas City, they will be looked at as the win stoppers, but not everyone cares that much.
Now with the last two years, Kansas City has made it to the finals and won. The Eagles have gotten close in the last two years, with them making an appearance in the finals two years ago where they lost to the Chiefs and then San Francisco made it instead of them last year, and they lost to the Chiefs. Personally, I would prefer for the Eagles to win for a couple of reasons.
Not only has this never been done before, but it’s never been thought to happen to any team in the NFL right now. This kind of a win would set the Chiefs in motion to be recognized as one of the best teams ever, and as a Miami fan, I’m not extremely bothered by this, but there are too many Dallas and Texas fans to EVER be okay with Kansas City winning something again. The number of upset people I’ve heard from in the past two years around this time is unimaginable.
Secondly, Kansas City’s lead quarterback is Patrick Mahomes, the ONLY man to ever be accurately compared to Tom Brady and to be possibly called a better quarterback than Tom Brady. I can not stand for that kind of slander, especially when it is necessary to compare Mahomes to Brady, meaning Brady is the STANDARD for all quarterbacks, and I don’t believe Mahomes has hit that standard.
Finally, the Chiefs are just one big sellout team. Their entire team feels like an advertisement for something, especially Taylor Swift. It’s gotten to a point that if Travis Kelce gets hurt, the attention is put on her instead of him, the one that got hurt. She is the face of their team and the minute she leaves, Kansas City will lose 65% of the fans they accumulated over the past two years.
Now, some may be thinking that they’re a team that rightfully deserves their spot in the finals, and they are a fantastic team. I hear you, so now hear me. The Chiefs have had numerous moments throughout this, and instances of last season where they had blatant incorrect calls made in favor of them. There have been multiple instances in which the Chiefs have had calls against them whereas other teams have not.
Once again, I am confident that the Philadelphia Eagles will win the Superbowl this year instead of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have had too many bad calls and upsetting wins (for other fans) for them to win this year, while the Eagles more than deserve a victory for all their hard work.
