It is that time of year again when the Blue Devil Volleyball Program is swinging into action for playoffs. This year’s playoffs will look a little different by only having 6 rounds rather than 7. The UIL decided that each class (3A, 4A, etc.) was going to be split into a big school and small school category.
The Devils, ranked number one in small school for 3A, played Buna in the bi-district round on Monday, November 4, and swept the Lady Cougars. The scores were 25-18, 25-13, and 25-12. They played Anderson Shiro, ranked number 9 in small school, on Thursday, Nov. 7 in Centerville. It was another clean sweep for the Devils with the scores 25-9, 25-19, and 25-14.
In the regional semifinals, the Blue Devils sadly came up short in a tough battle against the Lady Trojans of West, 3-1. The scores were 20-25, 25-18, 20-25, and 13-25. After a season in which the girls faced multiple challenges, they came out with a 41-8 record on the season and a 10-0 season on district.
