Tennis season is now in full swing. Starting their spring season ready for anything, and they have completed many games already, both Varsity, and JV. The 2025 year team is ready to compete and have fun this season. They are excited to see what is in store and what they are capable of.
Tennis Coach Jon McClain, a former Tennis player himself, said about this year’s seasons that he hopes to see what great things are coming for this year.
“I played in high school,” he said. “[I] am blessed to coach others.”
Like any coach, he wants the best from his players. He wants them to push themselves, but only for the best.
“I expect my players to play to the best of their abilities,” McClain said.
We hope to expect a lot of triumph for tennis. Many of the tennis players have played for many years, but even after they do lose some games it only helps them to strive better.
“I don’t enjoy losing,” McClain said. “But it does help me understand what we need to work on.”
Fueled by an early momentum, the team is setting its sights on a bigger goal – one their coach believes is well within reach.
“I have a desire for them to become better and to [have] respect [for] their team and themselves,” McClain said.
With every team, conflict is bound to happen and he assures us that he wants the best for them so he continues to teach them through those conflicts.
“[I] address it and discuss [with the team on] how to resolve it,” McClain said.
He discusses dreams and accomplishments that mean a lot to him and his team. He wants to see them succeed the most they can with the work they put in.
“To have the whole team go to regionals and state,” McClain said.
