The third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” was everything I hoped for and more. From the start, it put me right back into Belly Conklin’s (the main character) world after waiting two years for a new season. This season had a more mature tone than the first two seasons because they aren’t just at Cousins Beach anymore, but at real jobs now and college. The show kept me invested the whole time, and I found myself always wanting to watch the next episode to see what would happen.
One of the biggest highlights of this season for me was Conrad and Belly finally ending up together. They are both my favorite characters, and I liked how this season showed more of their perspectives. This season, Conrad Fisher was also painted in a different light, showing that even though he comes off quiet and reserved, he truly cares deeply about the people around him. His complicated feelings for Belly made the love triangle more intense than ever, and I couldn’t help but root for him. I liked seeing how Belly has grown since season one, and how her choices now carry so much more weight. It made the whole show feel more realistic and emotional, which made me like it even more.
Overall, Season 3 was a perfect continuation of the story, and it left me both satisfied and eager for what is going to happen in the movie, which is set to be released in 2027. Knowing that a movie is coming has me even more excited because I can’t wait to see these characters and their relationships brought to the big screen. I’m especially looking forward to seeing how Belly and Conrad’s relationship will unfold. “The Summer I Turned Pretty” continues to be one of my favorite shows, and Season 3 reminded me exactly why I fell in love with it in the first place.
