Teachers are very important because they help students learn and prepare for the future. However, not all teachers teach in ways that help students do their best. Some just give out notes or rush through lessons, which can make learning hard and confusing. A good teacher teaches clearly, plans ahead, and is patient so students can learn better.
First, good teachers actually teach the notes instead of just handing them out. Students understand better when the teacher explains the lesson, gives examples, and answers questions. When teachers only give out notes with little to no explanation, students might not know what the notes mean or how to use them.
Second, good teachers do not wait until the last minute to give a test. When tests are rushed, students get stressed and don’t have enough time to study thoroughly. This can also be bad if there’s only one other test grade in for the six weeks, and the teacher isn’t planning on giving extra credit. If teachers cram everything into one test, it is too much material to study and could lead to bad grades.
Finally, good teachers have patience with their students. Everyone learns in their own way and at their own speed. When teachers stay calm and understanding, students feel comfortable asking questions and trying their best.
Some people might say that teachers are too busy to slow down or go over lessons again. This argument isn’t accurate because when teachers take time to explain things clearly the first time, it actually saves time later because students won’t stay confused.
In the end, being a good teacher means caring about how students learn. Teachers should take time to teach lessons, plan tests ahead, and be patient with their students. Schools should help teachers do these things because good teaching helps all students succeed.
