In the new semester, school lunches are looking quite different. They are now offering two separate lunch menus. Students can choose between a “Country” meal and an “American” meal as well as certain items that remain on the menu every day, including hamburgers, cheeseburgers, spicy chicken sandwiches, and burger salads.
Principal Stephen Cox said that the school decided to make this change in order to increase lunch line participation and student excitement.
To achieve this goal, a cafeteria specialist is working with the school to maximize recipes, menu items, etc.
Cox said that he noticed longer lines and individuals enjoying the food, so the new ideas seem to be working.
There are still things that need to be tweaked, such as the inefficient and long lines.
“I can’t walk to my table,” junior Railey Whatley said, “without going through a mob of people.”
