Lady Devil volleyball off to a great start

Covid-19 has taken a toll on this year’s CHHS volleyball season, but the players and coach alike are glad the season is in full swing.

“It’s definitely not a normal season,” head volleyball coach Logan Smoak said, “but we are very thankful we are getting to play.”

Many precautions have to be taken to keep each and every team safe. Masks have to be worn at all times including bus rides, in the locker room, on the bench, and any time not competing.

“Our team is coming along, and we’re in the middle of a global pandemic,” Smoak said. “And the fact that we’re getting to play school sports at all is a miracle, so we are very grateful and are making sure not to take this season for granted.”

Smoak said the team’s main focus this season is “to build up the program.”

During the start of the season, the team made several free ball errors but is now beating teams 25-5 and 25-6.
